Chris the Guitar Tutor is extremely pleased to be supporting FAST! Please Help...
FAST (Fundatia pentru Asistenta Sociala si Tineret, or the Foundation for Social Assistance and Youth) is a charity that supports underprivileged children and families in Brasov County, in the centre of Romania.
Since 1998, they have worked towards a vision of an integrated, socially accepting Romanian society by helping the marginalized and impoverished to achieve their full potential. They offer educational and social assistance to those in need at their Educational Centre "Ziurel," as well as in local schools and poor areas of the community. Their work has helped hundreds of children and families to gain access to better education, better shelter, and better opportunity. Among FAST's many projects (including building homes for families living in makeshift shelters, and providing education, food and fun for children) is a particular project that has grabbed my attention. The new “Rroma Music Project” has been created to help to keep the traditional Rroma music alive, to be shared and enjoyed throughout the community and the wider regions. The project involves teaching children to play a variety of instruments (including the guitar) and singing, both in local schools and in their own Educational Centre. The families of these children simply aren’t able to pay for their children to have music lessons or instruments; so the work is done by passionate voluntary teachers...
![]() Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could bring that love and freedom from music to people who just can’t afford it?
From meeting president and founder Daniel Hristea, I have learned that FAST is looking to raise enough money to pay Vasilica a good monthly wage, so that he is able to teach full time for them. Just £200 a month would enable FAST to bring quality music tuition to hundreds of children in the area, and so bring music to the wider community. I will be doing what I can to support this cause financially, and by raising awareness on my site, but FAST really need your help too. Please go to their Website to find out more and donate even just a small amount, and help to raise awareness by liking their Facebook page and suggesting it to a friend...
Thank you
